About the Role:
UGL Bassendean is excited to offer permanent full-time positions at our heavy maintenance facility in Bassendean, Perth. Be part of an innovative team dedicated to the overhaul and maintenance of Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) and Locomotive components, including wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, and more.
This role offers a Rotating Roster with opportunities for overtime:
- Day Shift\: Monday to Friday, 6 am - 2.30 pm
- Afternoon Shift\: Monday to Thursday, 1.30 pm - 10.30 pm, Friday 1.30 pm - 7.30 pm
This role is not suitable for Working Holiday Visa's (417/462) due to the role being a full-time position
Your Responsibilities as an Electrical Fitter:
As an Electrical Fitter, you'll play a crucial role in our maintenance and overhaul activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Disassembling, inspecting, requalifying, and reassembling HME and Locomotive components.
- Measuring and inspecting critical journals and bores.
- Conducting brazing and insulation of cable and winding joints.
- Performing requalification inspections of bearings and pinions.
- Conducting acceptance no-load testing on components, including vibration analysis.
- Actively engaging in Lean practices to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Participating in UGL's OneHSE culture, which prioritizes safety for all team members
About You
We believe diverse experiences and perspectives fuel our success. To thrive in this role, you will have:
- A relevant Electrical Fitter or Electrical Machine Repair trade qualification.
- Experience with AC & DC traction motors, alternators, or rotating electrical equipment.
- Experience with GE or EMD motors and related equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and measurement skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
