We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk Engineer to join our Gas Operations West team in Perth, WA on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
Reporting to the WA Asset Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of APA’s gas infrastructure, including pipelines and facilities, by applying sound engineering judgment and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, legislation, guidelines, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical engineering support for pipeline and linear asset operations.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including AS 2885, pipeline licences, legislation, and industry codes.
Conduct site visits to assess encroachment risks and verify control measures.
Participate in meetings with project stakeholders and provide written technical advice.
Support and review encroachment assessments, applying engineering judgment in line with AS 2885, and coordinate required actions with Corridor Integrity.
Facilitate Safety Management Studies (SMS) in accordance with AS 2885.6, including preparation and workshop coordination.
Your Background
Extensive industry experience, with a strong background in pipeline and risk management
In-depth knowledge and practical experience in pipeline engineering, risk assessment, and operational management
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, eligible for Corporate Membership with Engineers Australia (mandatory)
Chartered Professional Engineer status (highly regarded)
Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
