- Perth location, 5:2 with rostered weekend work
- Manage a team of HSEQ Advisors
This position presents an experienced Health and Safety professional with the opportunity to lead a dedicated safety team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Project Managers in managing health and safety risks and ensuring compliance on a major infrastructure project located in the southern Perth metropolitan region which include new build construction, remediation, marine construction, utilities/services.
Responsibilities
- Manage the team of HSEQ personnel across multiple work fronts
- Support the project leadership team in fostering a positive safety culture
- Analyse HSEQ performance trends, reporting, and system updates
- Advise and educate teams on legislative requirements
- Investigate incidents and critical risks
- Liaise with key interested parties regarding HSEQ
- Drive a safe and healthy work environment
- Conduct and verify in field HSEQ compliance through site inspections and audits
- Manage consultation and communication with the workforce on HSEQ matters
- Coordinate HSEQ training programs
- Manage the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation
- Maintaining the company’s established Integrated Management System on the project
- Creating and reviewing risk assessments
ABOUT YOU
- Prior experience leading HSEQ in construction of infrastructure projects including new build construction, remediation, marine construction, utilities/services.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a similar discipline
- The ability to positively influence, develop and maintain site relationships
- Ability to self-manage own workload whilst ensuring a project efficiency and a positive team environment.
- Proven problem-solving capability
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
- Experience in managing a team of HSEQ personnel
- Experience in major infrastructure projects
- Understanding of Quality Management processes
Qualifications & requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a similar discipline
- White Card
- Police clearance due to projects being on a Defence site
- Ability to meet country of origin and security clearance requirements
