About the office
The Finance Office plays an integral role in the success of the University ensuring responsible stewardship through financial performance and strategic procurement, with a view to financial sustainability and growth.
About the role
This position will be responsible to assist the Manager, Commercial Finance by taking a lead role in the design and development of complex financial modelling and interpreting and analysing data to provide support to the University and the decision-making process of key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Strategically design, develop and evaluate both simple and complex fit-for-purpose financial models together with the design and documentation of any supporting processes.
- Develop and sustain business knowledge of the operational and financial models of the University, to ensure that financial models and/ or processes developed are appropriate for relevant and correct
financial decision-making of key stakeholders.
- Design and prepare frameworks for the provision of financial modelling support and advice to business case feasibility submissions, including preparation of financial analysis discounted cash flow analysis, net
present value and internal rate of return calculations.
- Ongoing development and maintenance of the University’s financial forecasting models and supporting processes, including the mechanics of the models and scenario analysis.
- Design and develop processes and checks to assure the accuracy and quality of modelled outcomes.
- The position will also be responsible for mentoring subordinates and /or peers within the team.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- CA/CPA level qualifications or equivalent and extensive relevant experience.
- Significant experience in financial reporting and forecasting, utilising complex accounting systems, various data sets, and reporting and analysis tools to interrogate and analyse large volumes of data.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, being able to influence outcomes both internally and externally.
- Proven experience in the data visualisation and customising the presentation of data relevant to the audience.
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data and design and develop creative fit-for-purpose solutions to complex problems and business requirements,
and build supporting processes.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across technical and executive stakeholders
